7 Major Areas of Life

30 May

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.  ~Confucius

We are all aware of how busy our lives are and how all those technical gadgets that are meant to make life simpler, better organized and connected, just seem to make us even more amped up, stressed out and over exposed.  I feel like I must report in to my cell phone every second of the day for my tasks that need to be completed, for my meetings, my love life, for my fitness and weight check in.  I feel compelled to always be on call for work, my family and friends.  Nowadays, all I want to do is run away from it all, be disconnected and have silence from the world that is trying to so hard to be connected to be in every way.

So how do we stop the whirlwind, so that we can enjoy our lives? How do make all of this make sense and how can we actually harness our own power to live a more simple and balanced life?

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.  ~Leonardo DaVinci

There are several major areas of life that impact how we feel everyday.  I cannot tell you how important one area is over another, but I can tell you that based on experience we all need to work on each area a little for our lives to truly be balanced and have more peace of mind.

1.)     Family – your relationships with the people related to you.

2.)    Love – your relationship with your spouse/partner/significant other.

3.)   Friends – your relationship with your friends.

4.)   Health – your relationship with yourself, both physically and mentally.

5.)   Career – your relationship with your job.

6.)   Financial – your relationship with money.

7.)   Home – your relationship with your home and surrounding.

The greatest step towards a life of simplicity is to learn to let go.  ~Steve Maraboli

As we tackle these areas of our lives, know that if we begin to give just a small amount of dedicated attention to each area we will see tremendous rewards in our lives.
